Major Corporations Look To Rent Express Communications And Iridium North America To Support Their Y2k Contingency Planning

TEMPE, ARIZONA/ TORONTO, ONTARIO--

Multinational Corporations Implement Y2K Telecommunications Solution

Rent Express Communications Inc., a leading North American provider of short-term wireless
telecommunications solutions, today announced its Y2K Satellite phone rental program in conjunction
with Iridium North America. The program, targeted specifically to multinational organizations, will
ensure their keyexecutives and information technology people worldwide are easily reachable during
this critical period.

"It's all about piece-of-mind during this crucial time for information technology departments responsible
for mission critical functions and applications. Computers are so integral inbusiness today that any
potential problems must be remedied immediately," said George DeMarchi, President, Rent Express
Communications. "Over the past month we've been inundated with information requests and
reservations - in one case for 80 units -illustrating the Iridium solution is seen by telecom managers as
an effective last-line of defense against Y2K issues."

The Iridium System provides communications via bypassing traditional telecommunications options in
the event of a disaster that may render landlines or traditional wireless networks inoperable or incapable
of providing reliable communication. A terrestrial or normal wireless call requires countless points of
contact to ensure connection. Any failure at one of these points could prohibit a traditional wireless call
from occurring. Alternatively, by using the Iridium System, a call follows a shorter path to reach its
destination. A satellite handset to satellite handset call over the Iridium System touches only the
handsets, the gateways and the satellites. These points of contact were designed during the last 10 years
to work in conjunction with each other and have substantially similar components creating redundancy
in the system.

"Iridium offers the world's global businesses the most compelling contingency communications solution
today, and we are especially pleased to offer a comprehensive telecommunications plan to Rent
Express' customers," said Jim Walz, President and Chief Executive Officer, Iridium North America.
"Reliable communication isn't an option, it's essential."

Rent Express offers special Iridium Y2K packages to its customers. Under this special program,
businesses can rent Iridium satellite handsets to coincide with the turn of the millennium, for as little as
US $495 per month, based on a ninety day commitment or $895 for a 30-day term. Airtime, applicable
taxes and optional insurance are extra. Billing options provide users of Iridium's service with an
itemized bill, detailing the number dialed as well as the date, time and duration of each call.

"Demand for Iridium Y2K solutions is far exceeding typical run rates for this product line and as a
result, we have had to sourceadditional equipment to meet demand," concluded DeMarchi.
