OT.. <and your vacation home, now cause mortgages and real estate ain't going down with these valuation levels.> Obviously you don't live near me...where Real Estate values have been flat to down for the better part of 15 years...and yet our taxes have increased 4x. Welcome to WNY. It's gotten so bad my parents are having a their former summer home(4bdrm, 2200 sqr/ft, 2 acres, on Lake Ontario water front) from when they were kids demolished to take it off the tax roll. Pretty sad,, and NY wonders why everyone is leaving this part of the state for VA, NC, SC, etc....where they get better pay, lower taxes, lower taxes, lower taxes.....and a house that just might appreciate in value in 10 years.
