Accelerated Technology Selected by SK Telecom to Introduce the World's Firs Commercialization of CDMA Technology to Korea

MOBILE, Ala., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Accelerated Technology, Inc., the leader of source code and non-royalty based Real-Time Operating System software, announces an alliance with SK Telecom, Korea's largest cellular phone service provider, for selecting the Nucleus PLUS real-time kernel (http://www.atinucleus.com ) for the SKY cellular phone, an
important component of SK Telecom's worldwide CDMA technology.

Code Division Multiple Access, or CDMA technology, is a revolutionary digital cellular phone technology which utilizes a spread spectrum technique that has been employed in military applications since the early days of World War II. CDMA changes the nature of the subscriber station from a predominately analog device to a predominately digital device allowing multiple users to occupy the same frequency band.

Choosing Accelerated Technology's Nucleus PLUS kernel was an important move for SK Telecom (http://www.atinucleus.com/testimonials/RTKSKY.htm ). The company saved money because they did not pay royalty fees for each SKY cell phone produced and sold. And in a society where virtually everyone owns a cell phone, royalty fees add up fast! The optimized flexibility of Nucleus PLUS, provided with full source code, gave developers the edge they needed to design a cellular phone and have it to market faster than the competition, resulting in SK Telecom
recognized as the first company to bring worldwide CDMA technology to Korea.

"We chose Nucleus PLUS because of the no royalty fees policy. Some of the CDMA cellular phone companies in Korea have major complaints because they have to deal with the problem of run-time royalty fees," said Juno Choi, Senior Research Engineer for the ITM Engineering Team, SK Telecom. "Accelerated Technology has a good license policy
and also provides the source code. Additionally, we ported quickly to our target system with Nucleus PLUS."

"Accelerated Technology continues to have success in areas where source code and no royalties are popular. However, our largest segment of growth has been with cellular phone designs. Customers realize that the availability and stability of the Nucleus PLUS kernel minimizes risks. In addition, Nucleus PLUS will be available for any future processor SK
Telecom may use," said Neil Henderson, President of Accelerated Technology, Inc. "We are happy to partner with SK Telecom in this exciting new technology."

China should be required to float their currency prior to any admission into the WTO. Think about the one common mistake that the IMF kept making in their assistance with emerging countries - they would give them money prior to devaluation. At least with Brazil, they got smart and told them not to bother defending the real for very long. At this point, financial assistance and trading relationships should only be extended to countries with free floating currencies.
