There is the distinct possibility that MSFT and the Justice Department are attempting to reach an accord, thereby pre-empting a decision by the court. Great point. I had been thinking of that possibility. It would explain the "friday" but not this friday nonsense. Maybe even Justice wants to wrap it up. MSFT may want it out of the way prior to Windows2000 launch. Maybe they realize that bad press does in fact hurt sales because it brings attention to microsoft haters.
