This involves the costs that come with running their existing operations. If there is any one thing that can rip apart the business plan of these E-commerce companies it is their accumulated operating debt. ASI has developed, and more importantly installed, proven and efficient cost reduction and data collection applications in some of the best companies in the world. Any one of these E-commerce companies should be thrilled to be able to show their Institutional and Retail investors that they are serious about controlling cost! Heck, if Chrysler can do it - so can the new companies. If you get a chance, take a look at the Nov.1 Business Week e.biz issue (it is contained as an insert in their regular magazine). The article that caught my eye was entitled "What's With All the WAREHOUSES?" E-tailers see they'll need bricks and mortars, too. Now, if this isn't a potential market opportunity for ASI's products, then I don't know what is.
