Chuck - RE: "This is one area where one should not underestimate Intel. I am pretty sure that they will begin their ramp of 0.13 (hundreds of thousands of units) in H2 2000 (in time for back to school season I hear) with volumes slated for early 2001."

Since when did processes only last one year?

Deschutes came out in the beginning of 1998, and now CUNever-Mind has supposedly come out in October '99. Unless you count the .18 mobile chips as Intel's full fledged .18 process, but I thought those were "testing the waters"?

Do you think Intel wants to move to .13 fast because Willamette and I'm-Lateium will be so big?

This could negatively affect AMD next year.

No they won't. How are you pretty sure?

Cirrus - <Fab 16 in Fort Worth, TX was supposed to open up THIS year, according to this News.com article. Chalk up another missed schedule for Intel in 1999.>

Why are you making such a big deal about F16?

It was put on indefinite hold at least two years ago due to economic factors.

It may be on hold for quite a bit longer.

What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?
