Mike: Remember you were the one who pushed me to set up the telecom equip. game on your board, so I consider you the nurturer so to speak.

I did set up the One Gorilla, One King and One Significant Other game on this thread as a result of reading and learning here.

The Q and JDSU (then UNPH) were simply the best by far I could find in wireless and fiberoptics - and I wanted each represented.

It hit me that since the Q was a gorilla and JDSU a king, the title of my game was a natural. Added SFE later as my "Significant Other".

Wanted an internut stock so I put SFE in based on my reading in the Fool and later found that Teflon had chosen it much earlier - as you will recall.

Didn't know that SFE was a Godzilla since the revised edition hadn't been published yet, but did want to try the internuts in some way and SFE seems to me to be the most conservative and prudent way.

In any event, think a comparison of the performance of my two games (and their components) is interesting in terms of learning where there is more bang for the buck.

Comments appreciated.

Respect, and best.

Cha2

Timing still eludes me. I've heard commentary on the dreaded "October Effect", with claims that the wisest strategy is to close out positions at the end of September and re-enter in November. But October was one of my best months of Wonder Year '99, with a return of 17.8%. So much for timing October.

Now, as we approach Q's earnings announcement date, people I respect for their market savvy are suggesting the best approach is to hedge, either by moving 50% of Q holdings to cash (in sheltered accounts) or writing DIM covered calls. I admit that I am tempted to lock in some of my returns, but dare I risk missing out on a repeat of the reaction to April's earnings report? I will wrestle with this all weekend, and would welcome input from the thread.

Fighting my MoMo tendencies,
