Lizzie, That story is about as accurate as it gets. There are more sinister (mafia) forces involved who are trying to S/T/A. This is a virtual can of worms and it has been wrong from day one. Pete Rose is like a little kid..He has the heart for the game that some sinister forces love to hate' Babe Ruth was no saint..I have been around for a while and love Baseball. I have seen many greats in my time. Dom DiMaggo was my favorite "little guy" player. He too played with a heart. Carl Yustremsky sp? was no slouch either..I was horrified and royally P/O at that damn Reporter.. I have always believed that Pete may have been set up. since I lived in CT. for many years I have seen it all with this type of setup. and "He who is without sin cast the first stone" is my theory... That was a magnificent occassion and one we will never see again..Did you ever hear about the time Ted Williams threw his bat and it hit his Manager Housekeeper? lol He was heckled terribly by the fans..Just a note of Interest..:-)
