OK, but my question had more to do with whether baseball has a hidden agenda about keeping Rose out... because gambling touches on the old black socks. Maybe this connection is obvious to baseball people. Not to me, I just thought gambling was another vice like drug addiction. It never really occured to me that baseball thinks gambling is so terrible because it implies corruption of the game itself.

I am just assuming Rose is a compulsive gambler... who cares anyway? Shouldn't be a big deal even if true.
