You may be thinking about it was 4 fabs cranking out the MIA-Coppermines.

Low yield.
.18 problems.
No 820/Rambust to go with it.

Typical AMD launch from the past.

What's wrong with bootleg software?
What they charge for some of it, I wouldn't buy it anyway!
