Michael, would you know when the Christmas bonus incentives kick in? -g- ...something on the order of 70 percent of all equity mutual funds have fiscal year-ends in October. He also went on to point out that at these mutual funds, most folks, in his opinion, had incentive comps versus how they did against the market. So there was a tremendous incentive to make October look particularly good.

MB, >>But, if that was the big force behind the rally, the game be over. I read Bills Rap and agree with your take on this market. One other thing is I went back and looked at old bear markets and this recent market action is constant with the broad, violent market up side action during a bear market. My memory is in trouble since it has been so long since we have had a "real" bear market. <ggg> I do suspect the "bulls" will not give up easily on this one, unless a bomb gets dropped. BWDIK. Joan
