Dog,

I think if you read this again perhaps you will get it.

"The current consensus estimates are 16 to 17 cents per share due memory price spikes."

You have attempted in your posts to set DELL's EPS at 22 to 23 cents per share. Why did you do that? DO YOU WORK FOR COMPAQ DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY ?

It is obvious that you spin CPQ's failures positively and DELL's successes negatively. Hey, but all's in love and WAR and this is WAR isn't it?!

Hi Dog:
Am enjoying your posts, and a reminder that its almost
earnings time( I Kinda forgot that)g.
Here was the threads opinion of earnings in Nov 1997 when
Dell barely squeaked thru with 69 cents.
Message 2774687
Sales were up 58%, 13% for the quarter. So nothing spectacular,
Dell has done as good this year.
Dell price in 1997:
11-12 $72
11-21 $83
11-22 $80 ( a standard pre-earnings dip)
11-25 $81( earnings date)
11-26 $84
12-1 $90
12-5 $96 ( price faded after that, then came back by 1-26 98
Here was an attemp to short Dell when it was $81

Donnie tells them bears to COVERRRRRRRRRRR.
But do they ever listen?. Nah. Pitiful the way those critters sweat.
Conclusions
1. Should get a run-up to earnings, even if minor
2. Expect many noisy bears to visit next week.
3. If Dell only meets the estimates it could still go up on basis of good sales, but IMO there is no way to prove it. Might get more clues next week
