FranQ. On SAWS share of handset filter market. My notes on the SAWS conf call for their 6/30 quarter show that Sawtec mgt agreed that they had a 85% market share for 1st generation filters. I would guess that they have a very high share of the digital handset market too. I don't know much about flash memory, but I see whu SNDK may be building a fab--to supply the tornado.

Selling Q??????

Has there been a change in the fundamentals to the downside?
What are the chances of the downside? Of the upside? Don't we all agree Upside is >>>>>>>>>>> Downside by a mile?

You've been reading your favorite nephew's comments about selling 50% of Q on Monday. He may be right, and smart in the short-term, but who cares?

We all have great respect for you on the outside; but it seems clear to me, as a physician, that you have MO-MO addictive qualities on the inside. The worse thing I can do here is to agree with you, or to enable these self-destructive tendencies.

Frank, you need help. Spend time with our thread counselor, and if that doesn't work, then see me and I'll medicate you.......or find you certifiable and commit you to the local sanitarium. A Straight-Jacket for you. No online access to a broker, and no 49ers' games for punishment. If you still don't get it, think Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. <G>

>>Imo, the other critical shortage component is flash memory...Hmmmm, sndk...<<

From John Dvorak's column in PC Magazine 11/2/99 (print edition)

"The huge demand for digital cameras at higher pixel resolutions has swamped the flash memory makers. According to Semico Research, the growth of flash is phenomenal, and it will be a $6 billion market by the end of next year! Manufacturing lead times are as high as 26 weeks, with most makers sold out for the rest of the year.

Semico sees a market growth pattern that looks to be doubling every 3 years. This projection may be conservative...Finally, lets not forget the potential new uses of flash memory...The way I see it, and the way things are going, this is going to become a serious long-term problem."

PS. SNDK hit a Taiwan earthquake-induced intra-day low of $37 3/4 on 10/14. It has about doubled since then, trading around $76 now.
