Tried to use the link in the SI "THE GORILLA GAME", that Bruce Brown just drew our attention to, to Teflon's thread and it doesn't work. Assume that is due to problems among SI versions. Could any wise header here fix that or communicate with SI to get that done. Beyond me. Cha2

Mike: How about this? You politely declined my requests several times to do your famous due diligence on JDSU because of time constraints and very limited interest in going to the fiberoptics technology field for a new investment. However, the question continues to be discussed widely as to whether JDSU is merely a king or if it has gorilla potential. If you would be willing to look at that narrow question (chuckle), many of us would be very very pleased to have your expert opinion. The question turns primarily on whether the narrow specialization in component fiber optic component supply has such practical barriers to entry for a new player that the field is limited to those involved currently. And among them JSDU is the giant. And JDSU is the only company among them that can produce "modules" which combine active and passive components. There is no claim that I know of that JDSU has any lock on patents or IPRs. Therefore it has been my view that despite JDSU's great strengths and very strong leadership in the fiber optics equipment component field, JDSU is a king - not a gorilla candidate. But I do not have anything like the depth of knowledge of the Gorilla Game or the analytical skills you do and demonstrate here time after time. So, how about taking a look - on this question only - not a full DD? Respect, and best as always. Cha2

Mike, I don't know what the relationship between SI and the Bill Meade list is. I do know that several months ago Bill did mention something was in the works. No announcement was made on the list recently, just saw on yesterday's digest from Bill's list serve the following message: -------- Subject: Where can I find the GorillaGame message Board From: Carole Werling <cwerling@tmisnet.com> Date: Sat, 30 Oct 1999 13:48:54 -0700 I had been on the web and found a message board devoted to Gorilla Game investing I saved the web address as gorillagame.com I was on message 8657 and would like to resume - but I keep getting an invalid address message. Help - the only message board I can find is that of Motley Fool Gorilla Game and it is very sparse indeed TIA Carole ------- So, I checked the link. I'll certainly pass on the 'formal' announcement, if any, on the list serve. I seem to remember Bill saying perhaps Geoff and maybe even Paul or Tom would have some participation. Don't quote me on that as it's late at night and I can't recall the exact discussion. What's the link in the new manual? My wife's asleep and I don't want to go in the bedroom to disturb her to check. Perhaps it is gorillagame.com and the SI relationship just started this weekend. BB
