TSD, I am not a network or PC expert. I only asked the question from an empirical point of view. I had the service before and after and there was no difference. On good Watley days, data feeds were good. On bad Watley days data feeds were bad. Same before, same after Hyperfeed. I have not looked at the posts you refer to on RB. But I think either they are wrong or you have not comprehended them right. What you suggest is that Hyperfeed not only compresses data efficiently, but also makes it transmit faster over the internet, bit for bit. As if to say, 500 mbits of Hyperfeed-compressed data will travel from A to B faster than 500mbits of any other kind of data. Which sounds to me like 500 lbs of gold is heavier than 500 lbs of cotton. Futhermore I was in a discussion on the CyberTrader board where RealTick feeds were being compared with Q-Charts feeds. Q-Charts uses about a tenth (ballpark) the bandwidth of RealTick to send the same data. It's not a compression advantage, it's just how the data is organized -- apparently, RT is redundant in some of the data it generates. On normal days I don't have any trouble in those markets. My data at MB used to come from S&P Comstock. Now Townsend gets it directly from Nasdaq. Futhermore, there's a new company everyday claiming some revolutionary new compression technology that is going to change the way we communicate on the internet once it gets discovered. If I may humbly suggest, if you really are interested in whether or not HyperFeed has something of value, why don't you ask around on some threads where there are networking experts, like the Cisco thread. I'm sure you'll get an earful. wily
