I also know that Y2K problems overseas can bring US down...are you looking overseas?

Yes, of course. US companies that are dependent on overseas companies should be soliciting them re their Y2K preparedness. If no or shoddy preparedness is indicated,
they should be jettisoned. I know it is not that simple because of sole sourced (or near) parts, and you don't go around changing vendors willy nilly. Still, the message is that US companies should be spending part of their Y2K budget allocations on non-USA concerns. Have you looked up Gartner Group's opinions on Y2K? They have it all over Yardeni, IMO, if for no other reason than their 30+ years in IT.
