Regarding the Conference Call:

Does anyone think the questions the analysts asked were for the most part answered in the press release and presentation of AA and Didier? How much are the analysts being paid, and where can I apply? I won't apply if I can't invest in CYMI. Were any of the questions worthwhile? I'm interested in news on copper interconnects (any issues with other materials), the recent articles about the physical limitations of design rules, and especially the character in Florida who invented a sharper pencil for one-tenth the price that is the size of a walkman and makes fries.

The only really striking news I heard was Didier saying 1000 lasers by the end of '99 (can that be correct?), and 6-7000 by 2002 (is that the right year?). I don't remember-- Did someone do the math of what kind of income that means and the projected stock price given about a 40 P/E? My math's not good, but I'll try: $500k*.4(margin)*6000=$1.2e+09. That is $1,200,000,000 over three years, without any acceleration=$400,000,000/year / 28,000,000 shares = $14.28/share * 40 (P/E) = $571.43 for a share of Cymer.

Can't they only produce 1000/year anyway? Are they buying the U.S. Steel plant south of Chicago to expand capacity?

I think they should move all distribution to eBay and add dot-com to get some quality NASDAQ investors. Then maybe we'll break 40!

I know my math sucks, but am I really far off? It makes Curly look like Master-of-the-Universe-Short-5Million-Shares-At-Any-Cost-Mr.Anti-CYMI.

Can anyone tell me about some other good stories-- areas or specific securities? I invest in semi-equip (Moore's Law) and CommICs (Gilder's Law? Bandwidth expansion), as my profile attests. My latest ideas are linux (RHAT) and embedded systems (WIND maybe, and perhaps Cygnus when public). What does the board think?

Cheers-
