Michelle, are you talking about the first Asian senator from California? If not, what about Daniel Inowei(sp).
He was in the US senate for many years. I think he was from Hawaii.

I've got a hunch that it is not so much Fong's votes, but that he back pedaled from them and was wishy washy and wouldn't take a firm position on anything that put people off.
