That aside, you're essentially admitting, above, that GUMM shopped their study around for a journal that would deliver a publishing commitment within a time frame conducive to maximal PR value.

Don't put your words in my mouth. Do you even know when they will publish? I doubt it.

In other words, they value quick and timely hype over true journalistic rigor, which most people around here already knew.

Kevin, what a ridiculous thing to say. They gave NEJM first crack and plenty of time. You can't force anyone to publish. This clinical deserves to be published (the AJIC just proved that) and there was little point to wait until NEJM was good and ready. If you didn't have your head jammed so far up Wexler's butt you might even acknowledge that.

Enjoy while you can, just don't forget to sell at the top.
