There is a free version of the Cold Fusion product - ColdFusion Express. Allaire also acquired the leading Java Servlet an JSP application server - JRun. One benefit of ColdFusion is that it is tag based so that webmasters and those used to HTML and JavaScript can use it with a little training. In many cases it is difficult to get enough Java programmers and some apps don't require them. Allaire has grown from $8M in 1997 to $20M in 1998 to probably $50M this year ($36M YTD).
