Why do you think these large companies have been going with TDMA since it appears to be an inferior product. It's my understanding that GSM is used by Europe because it is a cheaper system.

Re: India. Agree it is big news. Getting late so more on this in future. Just wanted you to know that you are not alone in seeing this.

One thought about lower price. Maybe rates are cheaper because CMA is less expensive to launch and operate, as many on the Q threads have said, and not because of any subsidy.
