Maouse... nothing in this verse says what you think it says.. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. What you think it says is "because you have chosen to believe therefore you have eternal life" What it does say is " IF you can hear my word and you believe in the Ftaher who sent me YOU (already) HAVE ETERNAL... Nothing says because Two verses earlier Jesus already explained and said that HE GIVES LIFE to whom HE WILLS Look: John 5:21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. If you what an example of " BECAUSE " Look: John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. JESUS says: They do not believe BECAUSE they are not sheep. It does not say 'they are not sheep because they don't believe.'- NOT So that IF you can HEAR and IF you believe it is BECAUSE you are a sheep and already have been GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE !
