I happen to think that this $Billion plus company still has a sound product line and will continue to grow its sales, particularily outside of North America.A comment just picked up on ROB TV thinks the shares will stabilize around $20C at which time an entry point may make sense.......I concur!

Serge, the street is littered with the carcasses of potential networking winners. Its a little early to put Newbridge in the Madge category. Madge never achieved anywhere near a $2B run rate, and they were only ever focused in the LAN, token ring at that. Of course, there are those that liken ATM now, to Token Ring then <g>.

The road back for NN will be long. My guess is that the company will go on the blocks shortly. The first indication of this could be the scuttling of the STII deal. No need to encumber a potential suitor with still more baggage. In fact they should consider selling off borderline assets to clean up that nasty looking balance sheet.

The company needs to deliver the 50G, and at least demonstrate in the lab, the vapor 450G. This would pique someones interest, although I haven't figured out who. TLAB could certainly use the customer base, if it still exists in 6 months when these new products are more ready.

And we haven't bottomed yet, IMO. My initial prediction fo 10-12 still holds.

Gary

S.C: Are you predicting NN's chart to duplicate Madge's. If so, I give that extreme scenario a low probability.

I feel NN's current predicament is close to that of FORE. At one time FORE was under $12. Yet it was bought out for +$35 8 mths later and the buyer is doing quite well.

At current prices, the only negative I see is T.M's desire to continue his 3 year old Mgmt experiment instead of calling it quits.
