MM, yes, that was the reason. an act of market manipulation by the CB's...my guess is they were scared that the rise in rates may lead to some hedge funds and other derivatives players going bust. as usual, speculators making the wrong bets were bailed out. one day all this will blow up, but no-one knows when of course.
