Can we get some terminology straight here? Does "write compatible" mean: a. able to use dlt media in sdlt drives, writing from the computer system/server to the media as well as reading what is on the media and downloading to the system/server, or b. able to read dlt media, and write to the computer system/server (i.e., able to retrieve files from dlt tapes using sdlt drive, thus being able to retire dlt drives as they age without worrying about losing old material), but not able to write over the dlt media.
