If the setup normally triggers quickly, then you may want to only give it a couple bars in the appropriate time frame. There is an advantage to setups that tend to trigger and resolve quickly. Risk is more easily managed with this type of setup by limiting the length of time your money has exposure to the market. This of course also depends on market conditions. Some markets tend to resolve setups very slowly compared with others. In this case you may want to give price more time before moving up your stop loss.
