Thean, Kroger just announced this week that its buying out Winn Dixie here in Texas. I believe its on the order of 233 stores a lot in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Kroger is already # 1 in Houston and I believ the article said this would make them # 1 in the Dallas/Fy worth area. Maybe a few more installs . Wish they were in Austin, but a texas chain HEB is strong here as is Albertson's, so I doubt Kroger will come in. I will have to stop in one my next trip to Big D or Houston and see what they look like.

I may have mentioned this before, but one of my son in laws is a manager at a Wal Mart down here and I asked him about the machine. He hadn't herard about it which is no surprise, but his reaction was interesting. Without knowing anything about it he thought it would increase their theft losses. This is a big deal with local managers. Its one of the things they get measured on and have a hell of a time controlling. If it gets too bad they get sent to the boondocks and are never heard from again.
