I am a big, big believer in pain meds. Tough noogies if they're also addictive narcotic yaddayadda.
I am sometimes in frank wonderment at what seems to be a national Puritanism about pain that isn't one's own.

Palindrome grub. I wasn't up at 3 f***ing am yesterday.

Agreed that it's the not-ending part of pain that's the worst. It's like, "OKAY, I GET THE MESSAGE NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP" but it won't shut up. I think you are more of a connoiseur of pain than anyone needs to be, but not by your own choosing, I know. That's the other worst part, isn't it, not being able to get away? It's like, OK, I am busy, and I don't have time for this, so can you please make an appointment?

Homeostasis rulez.
