Microsoft Corp. (MSFT ) - Feeling Put Upon optionsource.com With the Justice Department expected to rule shortly on the antitrust case against the software giant, speculators continue to pile into new put positions. Yesterday's trading was no exception, front-month puts on MSFT were extremely active across the board. Open interest on the November 95 and November 90 puts rose by 4,300 and 5,600 contracts, respectively. The out-of-the-money November 85 put saw open interest increase by 4,100 contracts. By comparison, the November calls saw much lighter relative activity, with the volume generally resulting in a net reduction to open interest. That trend is continuing today, as the November 90 and 70 puts are the second and third most-active puts, respectively, on the Pacific Exchange. Comment: I don't know much, but I know this much speculative leaning is bound to see them get screwed! I think it's rare to see so much one sided speculation get rewarded, but who knows?
