I have to say that Auric's post lists a lot of positives about the product - he he

Anyway, while this news is disappointing, indeed I think the cooler heads will prevail.

Not too many people can short GUMM and those who were able to this morning sold short above the current market price. The degree of smugness and personal feelings about the stock is high among shorts who tell longs never to fall in love with a stock. This is and has been a tragedy for them.

They talk about value, but now the bottom line is that GUMM is selling product.

It is clear that there is institutional interest in the stock and brokers must be salivating at this chance to get in at last weeks' prices.

"I'm not prepared right now to comment on what the motive might have been,..."

They're afraid to have the data scrutinized. Plain and simple. Pre releasing data prior to publication is nothing new. IT's done all the time at scientific meetings and is NEVER a valid reason for withdrawing a publication. It's the lammest excuse I've ever heard. Go ahead, Captain Shill. Keep a cool head. You may need an ice pack soon to keep the temperature below 100.

So the best case scenarios for this debacle are:

1) GUMM and the PR firm cynically touted the journal article knowing that it would cause the article to get pulled, but would buy Zicam a day's worth of free publicity

This raises the question of the integrity of management, an issue that's been raised several times before and dismissed by those long the stock. It also raises the question, at least in my mind, as to whether there could have been some fudging of the data in the study itself. Investors who are comfortable with the idea that GUMM used this journal to get a headline should ask themselves this question: "If management was not honest and straightforward in their handling of this journal article, why will they be honest and straightforward with me, the shareholder?". This question is especially relevant given the past history of this company.

2) GUMM and the PR firm were too stupid to realize that the way they handled their press releases would cause the article to get yanked.

If this is your theory, the question is how a company which manages to bungle something this simple is going to be able to compete successfully in a marketplace filled with deep pocketed and savvy competitors.

Those who dismiss this news as no big deal are whistling past the graveyard. As I said a while ago, the pattern for this stock is looking hauntingly familiar (Quigley and Zitel especially come to mind). Call me foolish if you want, but I tried to short this morning. Unfortunately, no borrows were available.

Those who buy today will look back on this day and smile. I'm already smiling...added to my position at 15 9/16

I thought it was still cheap at 18 7/8 during Tuesday's runup and picked up some. I was unable to add at around low 15 this morning, however, added 5k at 15 13/16 later. I am glad that I made cash available for this opportunity by closing other positions. I guess I am qualified for a cooler head...

Oh, one more note...
One of my vendors stopped by at my office today and looked at my Zicam box on the desk. He said "Boy, you got the Zicam too. Walt (my right hand man, Network Manager) was talking about it for a while. I saw the news in the national TV... I think it will be a big hit."
Of course, I told Walt about Zicam and the GUMM stock first. I was smiling like I knew it although I personally hadn't seen any news or ads yet on TV.

Another note, Walt made $800+ profit on GUMM. Believe it or not, GUMM was his first stock trading. He got in 12 1/16 and out 17 1/16 (160 shares). I told him not to sell but hey he was happy.

Just wanted to share there are several people that I know quietly following our treasure.

Regards,
Sun.
