re I suppose that it depends on how much we want the person around and it would depend on what objectives and or goals that we want to reach before the person dies.

This makes it relative, without any absolute right or wrong. It also negates the basics of human equality, meaning some would be "saved" despite their desires, or others "let go" despite their best wishes.

Does "fate" have as much impact on the issue these days, unless there is "fate" involved in the person's wealth(or lack there-of)?
We know currently there is a lesser degree of fate & a greater degree of other factors involved in who gets a kidney.
