The 'market research company' (RHK in this case) provides a way for a company to toot its own horn, without the need for a contract announcement press release.

I wonder what the numbers would be if they had chosen 10Gbs as the threshold instead of 20. Or perhaps scale the numbers by counting installed OC48 ports.

Does anyone have these numbers?

gbh, the choice of 20Gb bandwidth seems arbitrary. This was probably designed to highlight Fore's or Lucents's product.

An important question is who paid for this survey? One important omission is the word "independent" in front of survey.
