Re: "As to it being legal to be a monopolist and abuse that the way MSFT did? 'tis not."

That's not what I was taking issue with. You said MSFT was found "guilty as charged" by todays ruling. You were wrong. Today's ruling was not a ruling of guilt or innocence but a ruling of fact. MSFT was ruled to be a monopoly and to have used that position to basically bully the competition. There was no ruling as to whether or not that constituted a violation of law. It may very well turn out that way but you were incorrect in saying that todays ruling was "guilty as charged".

Hello Bill,

something different.
ebnews.com
Intel going after the FIC SD11 Athlon mobo.
Some places, AMDZOne and JC's is asking why Intel is going after the SD11 Athlon board.

Well, after some research, it uses the same southbridge 686 chip the Apollo Pro133 does.

Now what the chip does that Intel is after, I'll defer to someone else.

VT82C686A PSIPC
PCI SUPER-I/O INTEGRATED PERIPHERAL CONTROLLER
PC98 COMPLIANT PCI-TO-ISA BRIDGE
WITH INTEGRATED SUPER-I/O (FDC, LPT, COM1/2, AND IR),
INTEGRATED HARDWARE SOUNDBLASTER/DIRECT SOUND AC97 AUDIO,
ULTRADMA-33/66 MASTER MODE PCI-EIDE CONTROLLER,
USB CONTROLLER, KEYBOARD CONTROLLER, RTC,
DISTRIBUTED DMA, SERIAL IRQ, PLUG AND PLAY,
ACPI, ENHANCED POWER MANAGEMENT, SMBUS, AND
TEMPERATURE, VOLTAGE, AND FAN-SPEED MONITORING

Something in the preceding list must belong to iNTEL?

OR does iNTEL believe they own PC133 EVERYTHING?
