The antitrust cases against IBM and AT&T led to the explosion in the computer and telecommunications industries, unlocking technology and prosperity. This is a win for everyone, and a loss for almost no one. It is highly unlikely that MSFT will be hit hard in a penalty phase. The biggest aspect of this ruling will be a chilling effect on MSFT, which is exactly the effect upon IBM years ago. And the $50's? Won't even see the $70's.
