I think that if they'd started digging up a tree, it might have not struck us as so funny. But I can't be sure. I'm almost sure that if they'd dragged up a chainsaw and begun sawing through the porch railings, we would have said something. But I can't be sure. But if they'd taken a sledgehammer to the car, I'm almost sure we would have said something. But I can't be sure. I think that if they'd bound and gagged me, N would have said something. But I can't be sure. It might have just struck us as funny.
