Great thread! I'm new and have read the last 2000 posts trying to come up to speed. I really appreciate all the good information. I have a couple of question I would like to ask the thread. I have been day trading for about 5 years now and want to change from 3 online broker accounts to an E-DAT system. My dilemma is that I mostly trade the NYSE so I don't know if there will be a benefit to switching. The discussions going on now about superdot is quite relevant here. Since NYSE trades are not electronically handled, would I benefit from an E-DAT? By trading with an online broker are my trades then handled twice? Once by my broker entering the trade in his system and the second time by the NYSE specialist? I do trade NASDAQ stocks occasionally.

Secondly, It doesn't appear that NYSE data is available on some of the systems i.e. Cybercorp. Is it better to get a live data feed Qcharts, eSignal etc. and an E-DAT or get a fully integrated system like realtick? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It seems the more I read about the services and available electronic brokers the more confused I am. I'm ready to jump in but don't want to hit a shoal in the process.

I hope to be able to contribute to the thread in the future. For now I'm trying to catch up on the other 3000 posts I have not read yet.

There are nine ECN's currently, including ISLD, ARCA, INCA, REDI, BRUT, BTRD, ATTN, STRK and NTRD

Eric,
You need to add the MWSE to your list. Even though it is
called the Midwest Stock Exchange, it is an ECN. Therefore, all Level 2 data on it is "REAL" like with the
other ECN,s. This may help some of you get filled. When
you see MWSE on the inside with a market maker, preference
the ecn first for a more reliable fill.

regards,
OZ
