We have some big red flags flapping here regarding GDIS. Interesting timing considering the PR in question came out in May. Do you think maybe us reposting the Joseph Charles PR over here may have something to do with it? (g) Today's PR issued by GDIS over Business Wire says:Mr. Baker further added that in response to numerous shareholder questions concerning a posting on an Internet bulletin board regarding an 'investigation' by the brokerage firm of Joseph Charles & Associates, 'the company is in receipt of a letter from Joseph Charles that states in part: 'somebody is illegally using Joseph Charles and Associates' name in various chat rooms to imply we are conducting an investigation into Global DataTel, Inc. Nothing could be further from the truth and we will pursue the parties spreading this lie. ' The letter is signed by the Director of Compliance for Joseph Charles & Associates, Inc. Message 11828083 Quite clearly as you have shown, Joseph Charles did in fact issue a press release over PRNewswire on May 24, 1999 entitled "JOSEPH CHARLES & ASSOCIATES FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST GLOBAL DATATEL". The contact person is "John Busacca, Director of Compliance, Joseph Charles & Assoc., Inc., 561-391-9090". I just called that number and, sure enough, he still works there, extension 288. Should be a simple matter to call John and ask him to confirm or deny the lawsuit/investigation. Or, one can check with the Palm Beach County Circuit Court (15th judicial circuit) to see if a complaint has actually been filed: co.palm-beach.fl.us . Recall that Chalem and Lehmann's stockinvestor.com website was promoting GDIS, and using Stuart Bockler's report to do so (see: Message 11731930 for a copy of the report). Recall also that Bockler claimed his reports were stolen but he didn't know the source until mid October despite the fact stockinvestor.com sent out probably millions of copies of their newsletter months prior, not to mention that Joseph Charles mentioned the source as stockinvestor.com by name back in May!
