Yet Lee may have a point in that....

a company can sell stock from treasury anytime they please. It would be the only exception to that story. Right?

Yeh Bully, I figured there must be a legal snafu that prevented you from transferring stock certificates in your possession to another individual or someone would have thought of it before. This would cut all transaction costs of course. Just thinking out loud, so to speak.
