No, but a better analogy would be is : can you buy a gun(OS) thats not got Windows or IE?

The problem is that Microsoft controls the operating system, and with this their able to manage better results with Microsoft products used on their OS. This along with bundling software such as IE Windows Mediaplayer and others eliminate or limits the ability for smaller software companies to pose a real challenge and survive. As a result the consumer has less choices. This should benefit all of us as consumers, and as investors.

Ever tried to order a PC from Gateway or Dell without an MS app? Have you, huh? I have. Can't be done. If you want a PC from the #1 seller of PCs to consumers, or from the #1 seller PCs in the world, you have to have either MS-Office SBE or MS-Works. And yes, Dell and Gateway have to pay MS for this bundled software, therefore it is figured into the price *YOU* are paying. See my previous post.
