zeev,

Any comments on the msft debacle and effects on Rambus.

I expect there to be a drop in Rambus and particularly considering the 5-6 days in a row that the Naz has gone up breaking records.

regards,

Kash

by the way, may insiders short their own stock? that would be the kiss of death for any stock should it become known. i'll bet that even if they don't short, their closest friends and second cousins do. mr. france, your guess is as good as ours for mondays movement. rocky

Zeev:
Yes it is interesting but how relative is it.
All I know is that the majority of people on Yahoo who advertise their
short RMBS position take the proceeds go long with something else.
So this is as close as a regulated market will allow individuals to emulate casino gambling with house's money.
They surely don't put proceeds in safe investments like T-bills or money market funds.
I'll repeat short interest table to try illustrate how little shorts have paid on loan.
They will probably revert to Sep 10 valuations within 5%.

Zeev! I made this very point a few months back now:

<soapbox-OT> The SEC should mandate that short interest be reported daily for all NYSE and NNM issues. It can and should be done this way. Current computers and networks can easily accomplish this. They say it is "such a big job" - it could all be virtually completely automated. I say the short interest should be reported daily and be out by 7pm every trading day (later when market hours are extended-if they are extended). </soapbox-OT>

There is no excuse for the present state of short interest reporting. Now, what can you and I do about it? And I mean that question seriously, not rhetorically.

Back on topic: what is your TA say for RMBS? My guess is that with Nov options expiring 19th and rumors about release on 15th, we will be moving up over the next 1 to 2 weeks - then probably back down.
