John: Just saw a DELL TV ad in the UK. No fat Mikey this time. Just a very false looking office in a false looking skyscraper with a false looking chief executive standing by a false looking gizmo which I guess was a server. He looks like a rent-a heart-surgeon - all silvery hair and crinkly smiles. He says that he knew his firm needed to be on the net but didn't realise just how much until DELL showed them how. Then voice over stuff with Star Wars type fast moving graphics about how DELL knows how to do business on the net and can teach your company all it knows. This morning I saw the COMPAQ " bird " ad on British TV. You can see it on their site. It was captivating but puzzling since it does not mention anything let alone COMPAQ until the last few seconds. It shows a crazed looking, scrawny road-runner type bird hunting a worm and finding it - then says COMPAQ can find anything - 4 out of 5 of the top search engines on the internet use COMPAQ Non-Stop.
