I'm afraid that anyone who has dealt with IBMs Patent Portfolio will know that the best you can usually do is to "trade" patent licensing with IBM! They have so many patents for the most primative things in computers that you'll be lucky to walk away from the table with permission to stay in business!

Usually, IBM will come in and say "Ok ... here are all the basic things that we'll allow you to continue to do, and we use your patents for free!" ;-)
