Tero: In general I agree with your 3G overview, however I wouldn't be too sure about this: "Not some sci-fi paradigm shift that suddenly drops a Toshiba phone with videostreaming in the laps of consumers and operators who have never backed this brand."

It is unlikely that any one supplier can manufacture the whole scope of devices envisaged. Of course the main suppliers now have the best in terms of internal sales channels and that would be hard to overcome. That leads to the interesting situation of today's suppliers being the sales channel for third party terminals. Having said that, this is where Bluetooth opens everything up again - all you need is a simple 'connection' device that then could be connected to a multitude of other digital devices...so in some way my argument is negated, but that could mean just the one device from the Motorola's, Nokia's and Ericsson's of today.

All the best,
M
PS. Curious about your reference to voice calls between 3 and 5 cents per minute...we are already close to that now even at peak times in the UK (not to mention the free calls from One2One at weekends and off peak -too many various schemes from the 4 operators I can choose from to elaborate now).
