Chuck Re <<You heard it here first - AMD will be **decidedly** profitable this quarter!>>

Well I can't really say that this is the first place I have heard it, but you are the first one you are going out on the limb. Currently that would be a HUGE upward surprise, but all the estimate could move going foreward.

As it was said in the last CC, due to the Athlon launch and its advertising expense, the break even point will be very high. IMO, AMD needs to sell 1.3 million Athlon at ASP of near $300 to be profitable. I hope it happens.

Chuck - RE: "You heard it here first - AMD will be **decidedly** profitable this quarter! (of course assuming no glitches on Athlon/motherboard angle)"

I also think this Q AMD has a very strong chance to make a profit, but it depends on whether they can get about a million Athlons out this Q. However, I am guessing for a pretty low ASP for the Athlon this Q - $250. During the CC, AMD said last Q's ASP was just below $300, and this Q's would be somewhat lower. I'm using $250 to be the worst case scenario for Athlon ASP.
