Goutama,

Nice summary!

<Pretty good jump in K7-700 offerings indicating a good
supply.>

Looks like there are plenty of data points that agree with this jump. Also, not difficult to understand if it is indeed true that AMD is shipping 650s as 500s!

<Seems that mobo supply is not a big problem any more.>

I am also upbeat but I think there is still some scope for glitches before the year is out.

Chuck

Goutama - RE: "AMD Athlon CPU proliferation into small computer outlets based on the advertisements in Computer Current - Bay Area. Updated today."

Thanks for that summary.

Looks like the Athlon is STILL the fastest processor one can buy from their local computer shop.

Goutama, thanks for Bay Area ad summary. Everything is moving in the right direction. Two questions:
1. Did you notice a drop in Celeron ads like I did?
2. Did you notice that most stores with more than one location (small stores, not the COMPUSA's etc.) -- most of these are advertising Athlon systems? To me this indicates that the stores that are doing better are the ones selling the Athlon.
