Tenn and Fla play top teams... JM just a tad frustrated -g-

Nebraska on the other hand.....

PSU committed the mortal sin of college football. Losing late. Until there is a playoff that is the way it will always be.

<<Had PSU stayed at #1, and 3 other teams stayed undefeated...the BCS poll would be genius for picking the "obviously superlative team". Right?>>

Wrong. Sorry you interpreted my post as a "downgrading of other teams". Was not saying that PSU is better than the other teams(that must be proven on the field), was just commenting on the inadequacy of the current rating system. Explain why a loss late in the season is weighted more heavily than an early season loss. System is flawed.

Georgia, Alabama are fine programs, as are Tenn, Florida, Nebraska. Current state of the Memphis, Auburn, Notre Dame, and SC programs do not reflect their potential. But really now, how can one team be ranked higher than another by some subjective poll??

A playoff or tournament would end the need for such debate.

BTW, nice to see some healthy exchange of ideas.
