Lanier Names New President and COO C. Lance Herrin Will Drive Lanier's Document Management Solutions Strategy in the Ultra-Competitive Office Systems Industry ATLANTA, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Lanier Worldwide (NYSE: LR - news) today announced that C. Lance Herrin, formerly Executive Vice President and COO, will now serve as President and COO. Since 1998, Herrin has had worldwide responsibilities for all field operations, distribution, marketing and information systems, as well as product research, development and sourcing. ``Becoming a publicly owned company is an enormous opportunity,' Herrin said. ``As we head into a new century, I'm confident Lanier will continue to grow market share and become our customers' document management solutions partner of choice. Prior to his most recent role within Lanier, Herrin served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of U.S. operations, maintaining responsibility for all facets of Lanier's domestic operations, including sales, service, marketing, finance, human resources and administration for all products and business services. Under Herrin's leadership, U.S. operations produced consistently strong results, earning Harris Corporation's gold or bronze awards for five of the past seven years. During Herrin's tenure, Lanier also garnered product excellence and customer service awards from companies such as DuPont, Pacific Bell, Abbott Laboratories, Chevron, Christian Purchasing Network and Buyer's Laboratory. Herrin joined Lanier in 1967 as a sales representative for dictating products. He was quickly promoted, eventually becoming Vice President of the West Florida Division in 1977. In 1982, he was named Executive Vice President and General Manager, overseeing Lanier's dictation products division. Two years later, he became Executive Vice President and General Manager for Lanier's Electronic Processing Division. After the Harris/3M joint venture in 1987, Herrin was named Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Copying Systems Division of Harris/3M Document Products, which later became known as Lanier Worldwide.
