MSFT is a competitor of IBM. O/S2 was IBM's competing operating system with which they tried to kill MSFT. They failed. They Lost. At that time they then had to buy a competitors product that they tried to PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!

IBM paid 3 Billion dollars for lotus just to get lotus notes to sell it to their captive customers. My $40 email program works better.

They lost in the market place against a competitor that in no way was at that time even remotely a monopoly.

Maybe they can recoup their losses with the help of the Justice Department. Does that sound like good business to you?
