the license prohibited a holder of Win OEM license .... Actually the license required the OEM to pay for windows for every system they shipped (Or buy windows one at a time at a higher price). They could chose not to place windows on the machine but they had to pay for it anyway. The result was that OEMs put windows on every machine and sent alternate OSs in separate packaging, at additional cost, to be installed by the user. This was stopped after the previous legal battle a couple of years ago. TP
