Svelte's Sorry Stock Update

HIFN

Looking good! If it can break above 52-ish, may be some blue sky. I'm in at 37 5/8 and about to recoup all my losses incurred on 10/7. IBD's A/D up from E to D (Hey, its a start!)

SNDK

Can you say - YES!!

38.186.148.51

HLIT

HLIT seems to be establishing a trading range between 55-60. IBD's A/D up to B from C. I bought at 48 and again at 58 - so I will be patient for some of my position.

38.186.148.51

EFII

Sold at the market on open this morning as it was indicated down with strong up COMPQ futures. I like this company and will look to re-enter in the future.

38.186.148.51

MIPS

MIPS seems to be just mipping around. My Worden's indicators are deteriorating, but look at that OBV. I'll hold and watch.

NEW trades...

I haven't posted much because I've been busy with getting our house ready to sell as well as, well, a real day job! Normally, I don't trade stocks under about $20, but I picked up CCUR about 10 days ago. They are in the VOD industry and speculation is that they may land contracts with either SFA or GIC. Today coverage was initiated with a buy. I also bought TSAI as it is showing good accumulation.

Today I bought some PVSW on a tip from the "GEMS" thread - it was later picked up on Briefing. Technicals look a lot like NEON did last summer. I also trolled for ADSK.

Good trading to all!

Steve, was it pure luck or great foresight that allowed you to pick AMKR over GNSS when you made your purchase? The GNSS situation is everything has to do with the supply constraint and the Taiwan quake is very much to be blamed. We are in the tax loss selling period and the lack of upward strength in GNSS is reflective of this tax loss situation. Why do I think it will double? Look at this chart

beta.iqc.com

The peak at pre-quake level was $30. I think it is a fair assumption we are near the peak of the tax selling situation and the stock is trading in the 15's. There are just too much precedents that a stock that gets a sharp 50% haircut from its top due to a certain one time event will bounce back strongly when the sentiment changes. The sentiment in this case comprises both the quake fear (more quake to come fear actually) and the year end tax selling seasonality. The management of the company has made it clear that demand is never an issue and they will sell as much as they have parts to make. Therefore, knowing the nimbleness of the semi manufacturing capability in terms of supplying the hottest of the hot cakes (parts), the constraint may be well over by January (next Q announcement). When the street knows about it, together with the January effect, GNSS may get pumped up to $30 in 3 months, so it's a double.

Thean,

Is TXCC making it's move I mentioned? This morning it's bidding 51 1/4 at 8:23 ET, up from the close of 49 7/8.

Is today the day it holds 50? Sure feels like it...
